Area children invited to November 20 soccer challenge

The Knights of Columbus 7978 will host a soccer challenge on Saturday, November 20, for local children ages 7 to 16. The event will take place in the St. Rose School gym, 217 East Front Street. Times of competition are 9 a.m. for ages 7 to 9; 10 a.m. for ages 10 to 13; and 11 a.m.

NBC posts all league football honors

David Bringman, Northern Buckeye Conference commissioner, has announced the all league honors for 10 Rossford High School football players. Senior end Gavin Linkous was named First Team for both defensive end and offensive tackle.

Van Wert blanks Bulldogs in playoffs, 46-0

Rossford suffered a shutout loss in the first round of the OHSAA football playoffs at the hands of the Van Wert Cougars, 46-0, last Friday. The Bulldogs made their second consecutive trip to the playoffs, but ran into difficulties on both sides of the ball as they faced the 2020 state champions.

Volleyball league honors announced

David Bringman, the Northern Buckeye Conference commissioner, has announced the following honors for three Rossford High School girls volleyball players. Earning All-League Second Team was sophomore outside hitter Olivia Rust.

Elmwood Royals race past Bulldogs, 42-7

In the regular season finale, the Rossford High School football team struggled offensively all night against Elmwood, losing 42-7. The Royals, who finished the season 9-1, came into the game angling for a piece of the Northern Buckeye Conference championship.

Girls in grades 4 to 6 invited for basketball

Girls in grades 4 to 6 are being sought to play on Rossford youth girls basketball teams this winter. Practice and a parent information meeting will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, October 21, at Rossford High School. The teams will play in a league and possibly some tournaments.
