Behind a swarming defense and some sharp perimeter shooting, the Rossford boys basketball team ousted Otsego, 78-43, in a Northern Buckeye Conference varsity basketball game January 4. “It was a great team game. The kids came out and shared the ball well. We had great ball movement.

Bulldogs defeat Clyde, fall to Perrysburg in Holiday Tournament

The Rossford Bulldogs played host in the second annual Rossford Holiday Tournament. The two-day event featured some great basketball from Rossford, Perrysburg, Clyde and St. Francis.

Rossford returned to the win column last Wednesday night dominating Fostoria, 85-45, in a Northern Buckeye Conference varsity boys basketball contest. The Bulldogs had lost two in a row leading up to the game, a makeup after Fostoria had gone through COVID protocols.

Girls basketball falls to Eastwood, 60-29

The Rossford High School girls varsity basketball team played a competitive game against a tough Eastwood team for about three quarters before the Eagles pulled away for a 60-29 win. After the opening quarter, Rossford trailed just 9-4 in what proved to be a physical matchup all evening.

The Division IV and V football All-Ohio teams were named last week by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association. For Division IV, Gavin Linkous, a Rossford High School senior defensive lineman, was named Second Team for defense.
