Golf teams take aim at new season

The Rossford varsity golf teams are both ready to swing into the 2022 season with hopes of competing in the top half of the league. The girls team returns four players from last year’s squad that finished sixth in the league.

Bulldog Foundation golf tournament to be held on Monday, September 19

The fifth annual Bulldog Foundation golf tournament will take place Monday, September 19, at Belmont Country Club. The four-person scramble has an 1 p.m. shotgun start. The $125 entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, cart, a grab-and-go lunch and prizes for winners.

Doughten to play golf at Terra Community College

Rossford High School graduate Sydney Doughten has committed to playing golf this fall at Terra State Community College. She is the daughter of Steve Doughten and Lisa Doughten.

The Rossford High School Lady Dogs softball team will host their 20th annual golf outing on Saturday, August 13, at Chippewa Golf Club. The event has an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The $70 entry fee includes golf, skin, cart and dinner at the Rossford American Legion.

Golf outing set

The Bacon/Ramirez Memorial Golf Scrambles, hosted by Northwood VFW 2984, is set for Saturday, August 13, at Sugar Creek Golf Course. Deadline is August 6. The two-man scramble is $60 per golfer.

Magic softball tryouts July 25

Magic SGS fastpitch softball tryouts for the 2022-23 season will take place Monday, July 25, at the Lucas County Rec Center. Tryouts will be offered for 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U teams from 5 to 9 p.m. Participants should visit sgsfastpitch.
