Little league football and cheerleading registration is now open at the Rossford Community Recreation Center. Both sports begin practice in early August.
Any children in grades 3 to 6 are eligible to participate.
Costs are $175 for football and $125 for cheerleading.

Rage Volleyball Club offers summer camp July 9-10

Rage Volleyball Club, headquartered in Rossford, will host a volleyball camp for fifth through 12th graders Saturday and Sunday, July 9 and 10, at the Rossford Community Recreation Center, 400 Dixie Highway.
The cost of the camp is $60.

Linkous to play football at Ohio Dominican

Class of 2022 Rossford High School graduate Gavin Linkous has committed to playing football in the fall at Ohio Dominican University.
Planning to major in sports management, he is the son of Greg and Rachel Linkous.

RHS chess team places second in league

The Rossford High School chess team ended the 2022 regular season tied for second place in the Greater Toledo Area High School Chess League.
Rossford and St. Francis each had five wins and three losses.
Ottawa Hills, Whitmer and Jones Leadership also competed in the league this year.

The girls team’s effort was marked by a solid and versatile performance by senior Clare Logan.

Walleye fishermen take top prize of $10,000

There were 42 teams from six states that competed in the Bass Pro Shops 2022 Rossford Walleye Roundup last weekend. After two days of fishing on Lake Erie, the first place winners were Jacob Runyan and Chase Cominsky with a 68.29 pound total.

Northwood VFW invites public to Fish Fry Fridays, breakfasts

Northwood VFW Post 2984 welcomes the public to enjoy Sunday breakfasts and Fish Fry Fridays at the post, 102 West Andrus Road, Northwood.
Fish dinners are served Fridays from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and can be either dine in or carryout. Steak, shrimp, chicken and macaroni and cheese also are offered.

Young Bulldog tracksters build for future

After a successful 2021 campaign, the Rossford High School track team finds itself in a rebuilding mode.
However, Head Coach Todd Eckel believes the young Bulldogs could make an immediate impact with a program that has been steadily on the rise for several years.
