SHARON K. (MOSINIAK) SKRZYNIECKI

Sharon K. (Mosiniak) Skrzyniecki, age 73, passed away on July 13, 2022, from pancreatic cancer. Sharon was born in Toledo, on May 8, 1949, to Theodore and Martha Mosiniak. She was baptized and attended church at St. Hyacinth and then, once St. Jude’s was built, attended school there, until eighth grade graduation. Sharon attended Central Catholic High School and the University of Toledo (UT), graduating with a bachelor of education. Sharon taught secretary and business courses at St. Ursula, was a secretary for UT, and worked for the city of Odessa, Texas. While living in the Houston area, she started her master’s degree at Sam Houston State University. Additionally, Sharon taught at Midland Community College in Midland, Texas, and was a project secretary for Chevron Corporation. Most recently, she was a student services secretary at Penta Career Center for more than 24 years.

DR. JOHN “JACK” FRANCIS AHERN

Dr. John “Jack” Francis Ahern, 85, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2022, at Landings of Oregon. Jack was born on October 14, 1936, in Manchester, New Hampshire, to Col. John and Mary M. (Devine) Ahern. At the University of Toledo, he served as chair of the faculty senate, was a recipient of the Outstanding Teacher Award and the Thompson Award for student service. For many years, he led university tours of Ireland.

Charles Edward Cox of Norristown, Pennsylvania, died peacefully and surrounded by his family on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at 78 years old. He is survived by his wife, Diane Jarosz Cox; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Catharine; daughter, Jennifer, and grandchildren, Emily and Bowen.

Henry Goth Werner, 93, of Rossford, passed away June 17, 2022, at his home. Henry (Hank) was born April 9, 1929, in Rossford. He was the youngest of four children born to Henry and Helen (Golder) Werner.

Helen Shufritz, age 90, died peacefully after a short illness at Kingston Residence Perrysburg. Helen, a lifelong resident of Rossford, was born on July 20, 1931, in her family home where she lived for 89 years.

Jacob Shufritz, age 87, died surrounded by loved ones at Kingston Residence Perrysburg, after a short illness. Jake was a lifelong resident of Rossford and was born on September 15, 1934, residing on Riverview Place until moving to Kingston in 2020.

SHARON D. (HENRY) SMITH

Sharon D. (Henry) Smith, 70, of Perrysburg, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Bridge Hospice at Wood County Hospital. She was born in Toledo, on December 28, 1951, to Gerald “Jerry” and Betty (Artz) Henry, and was a 1969 graduate of Rossford High School. She attended Bowling Green State University, where she studied home economics.
