•PAUL “BUDDY” ILCONICH

Paul “Buddy” Ilconich, age 74, of Perrysburg, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022, peacefully in his sleep at Merit House, Toledo. He was born August 5, 1947, in Toledo, to Paul and Catherine (Szul) Ilconich.

He was a 1965 graduate of Rossford High School, where he was involved in bowling and baseball. He attended Bowling Green State University, but was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served two years stationed in Viet Nam. After being honorably discharged, he was employed and retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

Buddy was privileged to be a member of the last Honor Flight out of Toledo. He was a University of Michigan football fan and loved to travel and play golf. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Marilyn; children, Kristie (Greg) Reighard and Jeff (Jennifer) Ilconich; grandchildren, Morgan, Anthony, Caitlin, Elizabeth, Emma and Jackson; a soonto-be-born great-grandchild; and sister, Linda Jones.

Friends may visit the family at the Lutheran Church of the Master, 28744 Simmons Road, Perrysburg, on Saturday, January 29, at 10 a.m., where a memorial service will follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor Mark Wentz officiating.

The family suggests memorials to Rossford American Legion Post 533, 145 Bergin Street, Rossford, Ohio 43460; Lutheran Church of the Master, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
