Patricia L. (Slane) Gamble, 90, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was born April 14, 1936, in Fort Wayne, to the late Arthur C. and Mary F. (Harlan) Slane, and died August 13, 2026, surrounded by family.

Pat was a 1954 graduate of South Side High School and a 1958 graduate of Ball State University, earning a bachelors in elementary education.

On August 1, 1959, she married Thomas L. Gamble in Fort Wayne; after 64 years of marriage he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, John Gamble (at birth); son, Todd Gamble; daughter-in-law, Janet Gamble, and granddaughter, Michelle Gamble.

She is survived by sons, Tom (Marj) Gamble and Rand Gamble (Sherri Albrecht); grandsons, Brandon (Jessica) Gamble and Nicklaus Gamble; granddaughters,

Tanya (Matt) August, Hannah (Austin) Armstrong, Sydney Gamble, Grace (Chase) Bates and Gabrielle Gamble; great-grandchildren, Nora, Ian, and Liam August, Taylor Garcia, Campbell Armstrong, Ella Berner and Riley Shafer; as grandchildren, Paul Tucker, Annabelle Blankenship and Noelle Knight.

Pat’s life reflected steady devotion to faith, learning and service. She was a member of First Wayne Street United Methodist Church and gave her time and care through many church ministries, especially Stephens Ministries. She devoted her time to caring for her children and supporting their activities. She loved painting and crafting, particularly ceramics and shared her skill by teaching others. She was an avid Purdue fan and loved fishing. Her commitment to community also was expressed through the Rossford Community Service League, and she valued the fellowship and purpose found in AOTT (ALPHA Omicron Pi) and Delta Kappa Gamma.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, August 22, at First Wayne Street United Methodist Church, 300 East Wayne Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana, with visitation one hour prior to service.

Memorial contributions can be made in her honor to First Wayne Street United Methodist Church.
