Marian T. (Laube) Marquette, age 90 of Rossford, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Maumee Pointe Assisted Living, Maumee. She was born February 15, 1932, in Findlay, to Norbert and Nora (Dindall) Laube. Marian was a graduate of Findlay High School, where she was a member of “The Big 19,” which then became life-long friends.

Marian attended Bowling Green State University, after which she was hired by Marathon Oil in Findlay, when she met the love of her life, Leroy “Cot” Marquette. They were married August 30, 1952, and celebrated 64 years of marriage before his death in 2016. Their loving relationship and marriage was an example to all. In support of her husband’s coaching profession, they moved to Rossford in 1960, where Marian initiated a Children’s Conservation League (CCL) group, which was a start to many life-long friendships.

After retirement from the University of Toledo as an administrative assistant in the physics and astronomy department, they enjoyed traveling. Over the winter months there were annual trips to Myrtle Beach with friends, where they enjoyed golf, card games, shopping and laughter. In the spring they enjoyed their time share in Maggie Valley, North Carolina, with her siblings and friends.

Over the years, Marian continued to enjoy bridge club, sewing for family and her golf league at Valley Wood Country Club. The “Cherry Lane” family was a part of their everyday life that was a much-treasured part of their family life.

Marian will be most remembered for her sweet and kind spirit, which was evident in her smile and contagious laugh, to all who knew her. She had a knack of decorating, loved shopping trips and hosting parties for any occasion for family and friends.

First and foremost, Marian was a devout Catholic, her faith and love of the Lord was the best gift she gave to her children and grandchildren. She was our prayer warrior, who provided support over the many years of life’s ups and downs. She will be deeply missed. Marian was an active parishioner at All Saints Catholic Church, where she served on the building committee for the new church.
