Laura A. Drouard, age 52, of Rossford, passed away Friday, April 16, 2021, in her home. She was born April 24, 1968, in Guam, to John Jack and Carol (Guerin) Hayes II. A 1986 graduate of Troy Athens High School in Michigan, she was a flight attendant for the former Northwest Airlines for 20 years until their merger with Delta Airlines. Laura then went back to school and obtained her RN degree from Owens Community College, where she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. She worked for various hospitals in the area and was a travel nurse visiting many different areas of the country. She was a member of the former Rossford Community Service League and a former member of the “Pierogi Squad” at All Saints Church.

Laura’s heart was as big as the universe, which made her second career a perfect fit for her. She was a kind, caring and gentle soul who left a lasting impression on all she met. She was a good mom and was the biggest advocate and cheerleader for her boys. When they were in high school, she was very active with the St. John’s crew team and hardly ever missed a meet, no matter where the kids were rowing. She will be missed by many and be loved by all for her outgoing personality. She always enjoyed a good chat.

In her free time, she always enjoyed a Carnival cruise with her husband and her favorite sidekick, Wendy, and her husband, Monte Daughety, as they sailed all over the Caribbean seas. Laura also was an excellent sewer and expert seamstress. She could make anything out of a pattern and over the years created many fun and nifty garments for her family and friends.

Preceded in death by grandparents, Duane and Gene Guerin, and John and Marian Hayes, she is survived by her husband of 26 years, Josh Drouard; sons, Matthew and Michael; her beloved dog, Search; brothers, John (Gina) Hayes III and Jeff (Hope) Hayes; sister, Cathy (Jack) Wallner, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Rossford Fire and Rescue Department, the Rossford Police Department, the Doug Brimmer family, the Andrew Vascik family, as well as long-time family friend David St. Johns. They also would like to thank all of her friends who stopped over to the house during this difficult time.

Friends will be received at the Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Road, Rossford on Friday, April 23, from 3 to 8 p.m. Funeral services and burial will be private. The family suggests memorials to NAMI, 541 West Wooster Street, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402. Condolences may be shared with the family at walkerfuneralhomes.com.
