Joan Rose Kwiatkowski, age 88, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on July 16, 1932, to Edward and Helen (Stolarski) Bialorucki in Toledo, Ohio.
Joan was employed at Gladieux Catering and later at the Hilton Hotel, where she was in the catering division. While at the Hilton, she was the recipient of an Employee of the Year award and won a trip to Disney. She also volunteered at the Medical College of Ohio. Joan’s family was always her first priority. She loved to read, travel, play the slots and cook. Her traditional Polish holiday celebrations were always perfect. She was very helpful and generous to anyone in need.
Joan is survived by her daughters, Barbara Kwiatkowski, OSF, of Joliet, Illinois, Susan Shible of Toledo, Ohio, Kathy (Jim) McVicker of Rossford, Ohio; grandchildren, Jennifer (Joseph) Schmidt and Christopher (Larissa) McVicker; greatgrandchildren, Caelyn and Owen McVicker, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Delvin; siblings, Edward Bialorucki Jr., Mary Terrell and Stanley Bialorucki.
The family is extremely grateful to Dr. Richard Phinney and the dedicated and compassionate oncology nurses, phlebotomist Kassie, pastoral care provider Dee, and the infusion center nurses at Mercy Health Perrysburg, who were like angels to her.
Friends were received on Tuesday, March 2, from 3 to 8 p.m., at the Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Road, Rossford. Visitation continued on Wednesday, March 3, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at All Saints Catholic Church, 628 Lime City Road, Rossford, followed immediately by a Funeral Mass.
