James “Jim” Arthur Reichert, 70, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly, surrounded by his family Sunday, February 6, 2022, at his home. He was born on May 17, 1951, in Toledo, Ohio, to Donald Russel and Shirley Mae (Hoover) Reichert. He married the love of his life, Theresa “Terri” Ann Marquette on July 9, 1977. They recently celebrated 44 years of marriage.

Jim graduated from Central Catholic High School, Class of 1969. He continued his education and received his bachelor of science from the University of Toledo. Jim was an avid Rockets fan. He also was a UT football downs clock operator, UT basketball shot clock operator and a referee for 32 years for high school, the NCAA and Mid American Conference. Some of his biggest games were the OHSAA state tournament, six times at the University of Notre Dame, and the 1992 Division III national championship.

Jim worked in HR for Guardian Glass, Tenaco, Sun Oil and Unisys. Later he worked as a financial advisor at Mass Mutual for 13 years, before founding Reichert Financial Services in 2003. He officially retired in January of 2022, where he was succeeded by his daughter, Jennifer.

Jim was a faithful Catholic and was steadfast in his relationship with God. He had a gentle, calm demeanor, offered guidance to many and was a trusted confidant. He was a very organized man and the go-to guy for many home projects. He was a regular at many local breakfast establishments and loved having a good nap. He adored his wife, four children, their spouses and 12 grandchildren. He loved watching his grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with the family at the lake house.

Jim leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Terri Reichert; children, Brad “BJ” (Connie) Reichert, Lindsay Reeman (former husband, James), Jennifer (Brian) Lindsay, Janie (Josh) Pheils; 12 grandchildren, Riley, Isabelle, Jack and Nicklaus Reichert; Theodore, Louis and Leon Lindsay; Dottie and Edison Pheils, and (Mitch Jamison, Jonah and Faith Reeman); brothers, Jerry (Janet) Reichert and Jon Reichert; sisters, Janet Wagner and Jackie (Rob) Stoiber; mother-in-law, Marian Marquette; brothers-in-law, Greg (Jackie) Marquette, Jim (Shannon) Marquette; sister-in-law, Sue Bigaila, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Shirley Reichert; father-in-law, Leroy “Cot” Marquette, and brother-in-law, Tony Bigaila.

Friends and family were received at Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, Rossford, on Friday, February 11, from 2 to 8 p.m. Visitation continued at St. John XXIII, 24250 North Dixie Highway, Perrysburg, on Saturday, February 12, from 10 to 11 a.m., with a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. The Funeral Mass also was live streamed at Stjohn23.org.
