Eugene P. “Sam” Jakubec, age 64, of Perrysburg Township, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. He was born on May 2, 1956, in Oregon, Ohio, to Eugene S. and Molly (Vavrik) Jakubec. Sam was a tool and die maker by trade for many years, until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and gardening, and was an amazing cook and baker. Sam loved nature and being out on the Great Lakes. He was an avid fan of the Browns, Tigers and Redwings. He adored his grandchildren and loved spending time with them.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Samantha (Richard) Linak, Andrew (Allison Johnson) and Daniel Jakubec; parents, Eugene and Molly Jakubec; step-children, Jason and Kelly Metzger; grandchildren, Andi Linak, Jordan Jakubec, Ryli Linak, Kole Linak, Reid Linak and Will Linak, as well as baby Linak due in September; brothers, Mark (Sandy), Martin (Kim), Matthew (Dawn), Joseph (Wendy); sister, Jane (David) Jump, and his former wife and friend, Paula Jakubec. Sam was preceded in death by his brother, Michael, and nephew, Nicholas Welborne.

Family and friends may visit at the Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Road, Rossford, on Friday, March 5, from 3 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, at 10 a.m., at All Saints Catholic Church, 628 Lime City Road, Rossford, where the family will greet visitors beginning at 9 a.m. Interment will follow at Ft. Meigs Cemetery in Perrysburg.
