Carol L. Lorenzen, age 73, of Perrysburg, Ohio, transitioned to heaven on Friday, July 23, 2021, in her home surrounded by her family, close friends, her beloved dogs and her grandmother’s rosary in hand. She was born August 23, 1947, in Toledo, to Arthur and Lucy (Haas) Herman of Perrysburg.

Carol attended Lime City School and was a 1965 graduate of Rossford High School. She earned her associate degree from Penta/Owens Community College, then went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in kindergarten and primary study from Lourdes College, and then her master’s degree in education from the University of Toledo.

Her career in education included pre-school teaching at Mulberry Bush Day Care Center in Rossford, director of the Children World Learning Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia, kindergarten through third grade teacher in Toledo Public Schools and elementary teacher in the Rossford School System.

Carol was an active member of All Saints Catholic Church, where she was a eucharistic minister for both masses and hospice and homebound parishioners, as well as a volunteer for the rummage sales and annual festivals. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren during the holidays, birthdays and their sporting events.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucy (Haas) Herman and Arthur Herman; sister, Barbara Richards; niece, Brittany Foor, and nephew, Jeff Double.

Surviving is her husband of 52 years, Jim Lorenzen; son, Brian (Racquel) Lorenzen; daughters, Ann (Chris) Batch and Sarah Lorenzen-Riedeman and her partner Brian Coddington; grandchildren Jacob Riedeman, Andrew Hayes, Chase Lorenzen, Samantha Lorenzen, Danielle Hayes and Peyton Lorenzen; siblings, Janice Double, Betty Vidra, Dudley (Cindy) Herman, Jim (Linda) Herman, Joyce (Dennis) Remer, Alice (John) Farley, Charlene Herman, Mary Rose (Mike) Dimick, Richard (Pam) Herman, Chuck (Deb) Herman, Tom (Mary) Herman, Trudy (Gary) Kovach and Helen (Tim) Foor, and several loving nieces and nephews.
