BETTY J. LAWNICZAK

Betty J. Lawniczak, 93, of Rossford, Ohio, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022, at the Manor at Perrysburg. She was born on January 6, 1929, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Elmer and Irene (Swarthout) Zieroff. She graduated Waite High School and married her sweetheart, Jerome Lawniczak on June 4, 1949.

Betty was a member of St. Mary Magdalene PTA, LCBA, and served on the church council at All Saints Catholic Church. She worked for Abundant Life in Perrysburg and was an avid Michigan sports fan. She enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers and Lions, and University of Michigan.

Betty loved spending time with family and friends at Silver Lake in the Irish Hills. Betty was admired by many friends, was a fun-loving person, and will be missed by all, including her furry friend, Mia.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerome; brothers, Jerry, Jim, Elmer and Bob, and sister, Mary Ellen. She is survived by her children, “Jim (Deb) Lawniczak, Linda (Jim) Kreger, John (Shelley) Lawniczak, Daniel Lawniczak and Sue (Herb) Cook; grandchildren, Christie (Mike) Staup, Scott (Cori) Kreger, Todd (Amy) Lawniczak, Troy (Stacey) Lawniczak, Abbey Cook, Kelly (Jake) Wittmer, Megan Cook and Austin Cook; 10 great-grandchildren, and sister, Dorothy (Neil) Burson.

Friends will be received at All Saints Catholic Church, Rossford on March 3, from 10 to 11 a.m., with a Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Ft. Meigs Union Cemetery, Perrysburg.
