Alvin O. Spohn, 86, of Rossford, Ohio, passed away at Birchwood Care Center, Fairfield Township, Ohio, on Monday, October 11, 2021. He was born in Toledo, on December 16, 1934, to Oscar and Vera (Fansler) Spohn. Alvin married his sweetheart, Irene M. (Jacoby) Spohn, on June 27, 1953 in Toledo.

Alvin worked as a quality assurance superintendent at Inmont Corporation for many years. He later worked as a quality assurance manager for Bristol Myers-Squibb Company, formerly known as Jobst, for several years.

Alvin was involved with the Rossford Band Boosters and served as president for several years. He also was the chairman of the Rossford Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts when his children were involved with the program. While working for Inmont, Alvin was the president of Junior Achievement. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, as well as travel the world with his wife.

Alvin is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Otto, Jr.) Johnsen; son, Douglas (Donna) Spohn; daughter-in-law, Lori Spohn; grandchildren, Heather Kallies, Otto (Angela) Johnsen III, Alison (James) Link, Kelley Spohn, Alan (Elena) Spohn and Ken Spohn Jr.; great-grandchildren, Lydia and Anden Kallies, Hannah Young, Adrianna Johnsen, Francesca, Victoria and Alexandra Spohn, and Carson, Carter and Calvin Link; brother, Oscar Spohn, and sisters-in-law, Pat and Nancy Spohn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 68 years, Irene; brothers, Ernest, George, John and Dennis Spohn; sisters, Melva Edwards, Lillian Moilan and Helen Loga, and son, Kenneth Spohn Sr.

Friends were received at Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, Rossford (419-666- 1566) on Friday, October 15, from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral services were Saturday, October 16, at 10 a.m., with Pastor Earl Marsh officiating. Burial followed in Lake Township Cemetery.
