Terry “Scheib” Richard Wagner Sr., 78, of Rossford, Ohio, died Thursday, July 8, 2021, at home surrounded by his family. Terry was born in Toledo on August 3, 1942, to Richard Earl and Avanell Josephine (Terry) Wagner.
Terry was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 533, where he served for many years as a commander of the Sons. He also facilitated numerous fund-raisers and other functions hosted by the American Legion. He was owner of North End Auto Parts in Toledo and Everything Automotive in Point Place. Terry was a professional gambler and local bookie for 40 years.
He lived next to Moe’s Place and patronized the Mad Dog Saloon, where friends were enjoyed. He loved cooking and made a great barbecue sauce. His chili mac recipe is used at Moe’s Place and served every other Thursday.
Terry spent many summers at Sunny’s Camp ground, where he made many additional friends. He was active in organizing and facilitating various golf outings at the Old Pines Golf Course in Wauseon.
Terry is survived by his children, Glory (Tom) Proudfoot; Terry (Jim) Wagner Jr., Judith “Judy” (Jerry) Gresko, Windy Wagner and Wade Wagner; grandchildren, Golden, Kenush, Kena, Gabrielle, Khrystal, Markus, Mitchell, Kaelyn, Christian and Hannah; 15 great-grandchildren; twin sister, Sharon (Jim) Willson; siblings, Karl (Diana) Wagner, Keith Wagner and Michelle (Reese) Cox; 15 nieces and nephews, and the mothers of his children, Judith “Judy” A. Priest and Susan M. Wagner. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bruce William Wagner and Brian Mark Wagner, and grandson, Gideon Jordan Gwozdz.
Friends were received at Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Road, Rossford, on Sunday, July 11, from 2 to 8 p.m. Funeral services were at the funeral home Monday, July 12, at 10 a.m., with burial to follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
