Area residents earn honors at SNHU

Jacob Wallace and Conner Neal, Rossford residents, have been named to the president’s list for the summer semester at Southern New Hampshire University. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.7 and above for the reporting term are named to the president’s list..

Kitchen of Hope open Sept. 22

The Kitchen of Hope will resume its monthly lunch and birthday celebration, at noon on Friday, September 22, at Zoar Lutheran Church, 314 East Indiana Avenue, Perrysburg. There will be bingo and prizes.

Battle of the Birdhouses supports local wildlife organization

Nature’s Nursery is recruiting all competitive and creative critter lovers to grab their hammer and nails and “just wing it.” The Battle of the Birdhouses is back for its fourth year of encouraging artists and raising funds for local wildlife. Each year, Nature’s Nursery admits more than 3,700 sick, injured and orphaned native wild animals for care and helps hundreds more remain in their wild habitats.

Twp. trustees hear, decline request for financial support for park grant

A request for financial support in the Wood County Park District’s quest for a grant fell short at Perrysburg Township. At the September 6 meeting, Chris Smalley, park district director, addressed the trustees regarding an opportunity the district has to purchase an additional 33.2 acres adjacent to J.C.

Beyond the Bell program new to Rossford

A free after-school program is now available Monday thru Thursday, for students in grades 6 through 12 in the media center at Rossford Junior-Senior High School. Beyond the Bell, a program run by the Wood County ESC Community Learning Center, will keep the media room open until 6 p.m.

Bulldog Foundation to hold golf tournament Sept. 25

The Bulldog Foundation will hold its sixth annual golf outing on Monday, September 25, at Belmont Country Club, 29601 Bates Road, Perrysburg. Cost is $125 per person and includes lunch, golf, carts and prizes for winners.
