Senior Safety Expo to be held in Perrysburg on September 15

Safe Communities of Wood County and the Perrysburg Fire Division are teaming up for the second annual Senior Safety Expo. Area seniors are invited to the expo at the Fire Division Headquarters, 26100 Fort Meigs Road, on Friday, September 15, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Gathering of Quilters Guild upcoming meeting

The Gathering of Quilters is a local organization promoting the art and craft of quilting with membership open to any person interested in quilts, quilt making and sewing related crafts. The guild also promotes donation of projects and items to organizations such as Project Linus, Ohio Quilts of Valor, Let’s Build Beds and Ronald McDonald House.

Nominees sought for the 2023 Penta Outstanding Alumni

Penta Career Center, a career technical educational facility for high school and adult students since 1965, is searching for individuals for its annual Outstanding Alumni Awards. Since its inception in 1993, awards have been presented to 179 Penta alumni.

Mercy Health offers mobile mammograms

Mercy Health’s mobile mammography unit has visits scheduled throughout the region in September. The mobile mammography unit is customized for patient convenience and will deliver 3D mammograms to women age 40 and older.

Free Nite Out with NAMI picnic is September 19

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Wood County is a self-help organization offering free events, educational classes, support groups and other programs that address mental health. The organization will host a free Nite Out with NAMI picnic on Tuesday, September 19, from 4:30 to 6 p.m., at the Bowling Green City Park.
