Safe Communities of Wood County and the Perrysburg Fire Division are teaming up for the second annual Senior Safety Expo. Area seniors are invited to the expo at the Fire Division Headquarters, 26100 Fort Meigs Road, on Friday, September 15, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Gathering of Quilters is a local organization promoting the art and craft of quilting with membership open to any person interested in quilts, quilt making and sewing related crafts. The guild also promotes donation of projects and items to organizations such as Project Linus, Ohio Quilts of Valor, Let’s Build Beds and Ronald McDonald House.

Penta Career Center, a career technical educational facility for high school and adult students since 1965, is searching for individuals for its annual Outstanding Alumni Awards. Since its inception in 1993, awards have been presented to 179 Penta alumni.

The Rossford Police Department is currently accepting applications for their Citizens Police Academy, which will be held on Wednesday nights from 6 to 8 p.m. Sessions will begin on September 6 and conclude on November 1.
