State to award Wood County CAD funding

The Ohio Office of Budget and Management has approved $1.1 million in funding for the Wood County Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system community project for the area. “As a strong supporter of public safety and first responders, I’m thrilled to have secured this funding to improve the efficiency of our response systems in order for our first responders to act more quickly when an emergency or a crisis is happening within our communities,” said State Representative Haraz Ghanbari.

Golf outing to benefit HOOVES

Kingston plans parking lot party fund-raiser

Wood County jail passes annual inspection

The Wood County sheriff’s office received a 100 percent passage of the annual jail inspection. On August 29, the Department of Rehabilitation and Correction inspected the jail.

New retention incentives coming to first responders from Ohio government

More than 10,000 law enforcement officers, firefighters and EMS personnel from 309 agencies will receive approximately $35 million in incentives as part of the Ohio First Responder Recruitment, Retention and Resilience Program, created to address first responder burnout largely caused by understaffing and job stress.
