Camp Miakonda to host annual Halloween party

The Erie Shores Council’s annual community Halloween party, presented by the Rotary Club of Reynolds Corners, will take place at the historic Camp Miakonda, 5600 West Sylvania Avenue in Toledo. The event is open to the community.

Lutheran Church of the Master invites everyone to join them in donating to a good cause during the annual Halloween parade on Sunday, October 29, in Rossford. Members will collect non-perishable food items for the Perrysburg Christians United food bank.

Third quarter crash statistics show increase in fatalities, serious injuries

While high scores in academics or sports are a good thing, the same cannot be said of crash statistics, which took an alarming jump in Wood County over the third quarter of 2023. Sandy Wiechman, coordinator of Safe Communities of Wood County, said the fatal data review committee met October 10 and reviewed 25 crashes, 10 of which resulted in fatalities between July 1 and September 24.

Comets bash Bulldogs on Homecoming night

The Rossford Bulldog offense struggled all night as the Genoa Comets handed them a 56-0 loss on Homecoming night last Friday at Jackson-Ferguson Stadium. In a game that was all Genoa right from the start, Rossford found yardage hard to come by. The maroon and gray were held to just 115 yards of total offense and six first downs.

Rossford alum presented with Award of Distinction

Dr. Kurt Polzin, class of 1994 was honored with the district’s 2023 Award of Distinction at Rossford Junior-Senior High School last Friday afternoon. The award was presented to him for his significant contributions to society.
