2023 northwest Ohio soccer awards

The 2023 D2 Northwest Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association All-District awards have been announced. Rossford High School had three students receive recognition.

The Healing Barn to host Dec. 9 event

The Healing Barn will host a Christmas pop-up fund-raiser on Saturday, December 9, from 1 to 4 p.m., at Wyldewood Tack Shop, 8128 Secor Road, Lambertville, Michigan. There will be live music, door prizes and attendees can have their picture taken with an individual dressed in a horse costume.

‘WKRP style’ turkey drop is Nov. 16

The Wood County Museum has partnered with Toledo Aerial Media (TAM) for a fun and unique fund-raising event. The (foam) Turkey Drop occurs on Thursday, November 16, at 8:30 a.m., in the parking lot of the Wood County Museum with radio personality Clint Corpe, The Morning Show, 88.1 WBGU-FM. You do not have to be present to win. The drop is limited to 150 foam turkeys which will be sold up until 8 a.m. on November 16 or until sold out.

Holiday Happenings

High school marching bands, color guards, giant balloons, dozens of clowns, and local dance teams will be among the more than 70 units in the 36th annual holiday parade. Two grand marshals with years of service in the military and to the community will lead the event which steps off at 10 a.m.

Owens awarded $330,000 in 2024 Talent Ready grants

Owens Community College has been awarded $329,363 in Talent Ready grants. The grants, previously called short-term certificate grants, will help students who have financial aid needs to take a credit or non-credit short-term certificate program.

Town Center tree lighting

The Town Center at Levis Commons annual tree lighting is set for Friday, November 17, from 4 to 8 p.m., at 3201 Levis Commons Boulevard, Perrysburg. There will be live music, Santa photos, tree lighting, carriage rides and more.

City tree lighting ceremony to be Nov. 20

Area residents are invited to kick off the holiday season at 7 p.m., Monday, November 20, at Rossford’s annual tree lighting ceremony. The traditional Christmas event will take place on the front lawn of the municipal building, 133 Osborn Street.

Residents complete Rossford Citizens Police Academy

On November 1, 22 area residents, including two city council representatives, graduated from the nineweek program, Citizens Police Academy (CPA), conducted by the Rossford Police Department. Perrysburg Municipal Court Judge Aram Ohanian was the guest speaker.

RHS fall play set for this weekend

The Rossford High School Drama Club will present its fall play, “Night of the Living Dead,” November 9 to 11, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, November 12, at 2 p.m. The club has 60 students in grades 7 through 12 who have worked hard for the past three months preparing for this show. The community is invited to support them and enjoy the production.
