Area residents are invited to kick off the holiday season at 7 p.m., Monday, November 24, at Rossford’s annual tree lighting ceremony.The traditional Christmas season event will take place on the front lawn of the municipal building, 133 Osborn Street.

The Wood County Prosecutor’s Office announced the winners of the 2026 Safety Kids calendar contest. The competition was open to all Wood County School students in grades five through eight.An awards ceremony was held on November 8, at the Wood County Courthouse Office Building.

Forfeited land auction scheduled for Nov. 25

Matthew Oestreich, Wood County auditor, will hold a forfeited land sale Tuesday, November 25, beginning at 1:30 p.m., in the hearing room on the fifth floor of the county office building in Bowling Green.

Local sergeant completes STEP

Sergeant Shawn Screptock, of the Rossford Police Department, graduated from the Law Enforcement Foundation’s Supervisor Training and Education Program (STEP) on November 7. Screptock was one of 42 students attending the thirty-fourth session of the program.

Blood donors sought for year-end giving

The American Red Cross is teaming up with PAC-MAN to celebrate 45 years of the legendary game. More donors are needed now to help keep the blood supply on track through the holidays.
