Federal courts require manufacturers of asbestos to compensate cancer victims

Plant workers, employed before 1981 and diagnosed with various cancers, are entitled to special benefits. Lung, esophageal, laryngeal, pharyngeal, stomach, colon and rectal cancers, along with mesothelioma are frequently caused by asbestos exposure. Asbestos-laced products were used for decades at LOF Glass Company. Neither employees nor management were aware of the asbestos risk.

The Perrysburg Township food distribution will be held Thursday, December 14, from 8 to 10 a.m. The township fire department will sponsor the food give-away at the township building, 26609 Lime City Road, the second Thursday of each month.

Seasonal eating program at library

The Rossford Public Library will host a program on seasonal eating for people with diabetes on Tuesday, December 5. Presented by Shannon Smith of the OSU Extension Office, the class will begin at 1 p.m., in the library’s Ccommunity room.
