Bulldogs defeat Panthers for season’s first win, 70-59

Rossford overcame a 10-point deficit and then rolled to a 70-59 win over the Maumee Panthers for the team’s first win of the season. In a game that opened with a fast-paced first quarter, the Bulldogs relied on the outside shooting of Parker Theobalds to keep pace with the Panthers.

Children’s Wonderland opens December 8

Children’s Wonderland opens Friday, December 8, at Sylvania Tam-O-Shanter, 7060 Sylvania Avenue. An area tradition for more than 50 years, the event features dozens of classic exhibits, train rides and pictures with Santa. Golf outing raises $24k for MS Society

The Mike Burkett Memorial Golf Outing raised a total of $24,000 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS) this year. Hosted by Burkett Restaurant Equipment and Supplies, the event has been run as a memorial fund-raiser since 2021 when the company’s founder, Mike Burkett, passed away after a 34-year battle with multiple sclerosis (MS).

BG highway patrol investigating train crash

The Bowling Green Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol is investigating a crash involving a train that occurred December 2, just before 5:30 a.m., on Walbridge Road near Owen Road in Lake Township. A vehicle, operated by Vinod Venkatesan, 35, of Flint, Michigan, was eastbound on Walbridge Road when it became stuck on the railroad tracks.

Perrysburg Twp. food distribution

The Perrysburg Township food distribution will be held Thursday, December 14, from 8 to 10 a.m. The township fire department will sponsor the food give-away at the township building, 26609 Lime City Road, the second Thursday of each month.

Notice to Wood County dog owners

Matthew Oestreich, Wood County auditor, shared that beginning December 1, applications for 2024 dog registrations may be filed. Ohio law provides that before January 31 of each year, all owners of dogs three months of age or older shall be registered in the county in which the dog is kept.
