On April 8, the community collectively raised eyes to the sky, momentarily captivated by a singular phenomenon. The duration of totality may have been different for many of us, but the impact will remain long after skies return to normal.

The following programs will be offered through the Wood County Park District. Registration is required for all programs 48 hours in advance.

On the second Saturday of every month, warm meals to-go are provided by the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo and available at the Perrysburg Heights Community Center, 12282 Jefferson Street, Perrysburg.

The Rossford Exempted Village School District provides a continuum of services to students ages 3 through 21 identified as disabled under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEIA).

Megann Smith, director of operations for the Wood County Humane Society (WCHS), will be a featured speaker at two prominent animal welfare conferences this spring. Her expertise and dedication to animal welfare have earned her the honor of speaking at the Humane Society of the United States Expo in San Antonio, Texas, on May 18, and the National Kitten Coalition virtual conference on June 8.

Since 1988, Wood County CASA/GAL volunteers have advocated on behalf of children who have experienced abuse, neglect or dependency by gathering information about them for the juvenile court. The volunteers serve a crucial role in keeping the court informed on the children’s well-being, placement and needed services.

The 2024 total solar eclipse on April 8 was out of this world and Rossford did not skimp on the celebration. The eclipse drew thousands of visitors to the area, many of whom were staying at hotels on Clark Drive, which led the Eclipse on Clark event, sponsored by the Rossford Convention and Visitors Bureau.
