Community quilt-a-thon to benefit Project Linus

National Project Linus blanket day will be held on Saturday, February 17, at Living Faith United Methodist Church, 1240 Columbus Avenue, Holland. The mission of Project Linus is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gift of new, handmade, washable blankets and afghans, crafted by volunteer blanketeers. Anyone who can learn to tie a square knot is invited to join anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Ohio Turnpike commission approves $254 million budget

The Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission has approved a budget of $254 million for capital improvement projects across the 241mile toll road. This includes nearly $238 million for projects beginning in 2024 and the completion of prior year projects.

Twp. zoning commission reviews zoning request

At the January 8 meeting, the Perrysburg Township zoning commission reviewed a zoning request for four parcels at Avenue and Ayers roads. Latty LLC submitted a request to rezone four parcels from R-3 suburban residential medium density to R-4A suburban residential high density.

Silent movie screening in Grand Rapids Feb. 17

The Grand Rapids Town Hall Committee and Historical Society of Grand Rapids will host a screening of the silent movie “The Kid Brother” on Saturday, February 17. The film, starring Harold Lloyd, will be shown at 7 p.m., in the auditorium of the Historic Grand Rapids Town Hall.
