Heroic efforts and milestone moments dot the landscape of women’s history. Often forced to fight for equality and inclusion, women have blazed trails and broken down barriers, all the while inspiring millions from their own era as well as future generations.

The month of March is notable for various reasons, not the least of which is it serves as Women’s History Month. Although any time of year is an opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of women and pay homage to those special women in one’s life, each March extra attention is given to the impact women make in their local communities and across the world.

Notre Dame Academy (NDA) is set to celebrate the school’s 120th anniversary in the coming year. Since its founding by the Sisters of Notre Dame in 1904, they have dedicated themselves to educating young women and empowering them to be intellectually curious, passionately faith-filled and socially responsible servant leaders.

Penta Career Center opened its doors to more than 2,000 students from 16 member school districts, which includes Rossford Schools, for the annual Career Expo. This year’s event, held February 27 and 28, featured a variety of career areas for students to explore.

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the City of Rossford with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. The distinction was received in recognition of the city’s annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year which ended in December, of 2022.

Rossford Public Library held a Leap Day poetry writing contest for teens ages 12 to 17 throughout the month of February. Teens were asked to write for the prompt: what would you do with the extra day Leap Day brings?
