Habitat for Humanity of Wood County will hold a volunteer orientation on Thursday, March 21, at 3 p.m., at its office, 326 Industrial Parkway, Suite 1, Bowling Green. The short, informational meeting highlights the volunteer opportunities available for the build season which begins March 28.

Fiberforum, a northwest Ohio fiber art group, was started 50 years ago by several area artists for the purpose of exploring fiber as an art medium. In celebration of the anniversary, an exhibit of fiber art is being held at the Wolfe Gallery at Maumee Valley Country Day School, 1715 South Reynolds Road, from March 13 to April 26 during school hours. The stewardship department of the Wood County Park District is planning to conduct prescribed fires in several park properties this spring. The locations of the burns may be in Bradner Preserve, Rudolph Savanna area, Cricket Frog Cove and Sawyer Quarry Preserve.
The Ohio State University Extension Wood County will offer a fruit tree clinic on Saturday, March 23. It will run from 9 a.m. to noon, at Haslinger Orchards, 7404 U.S. Route 6, Gibsonburg, Ohio This program will educate participants on the production of fruit trees with emphasis on insects, diseases and pruning. Information will be provided using both organic and conventional practices.
The annual “regarding Him Women’s Conference” will be held Saturday, March 16 at Christ the Word Church, 3100 Murd Road, Sylvania. The event, which regularly draws 500 women from more than 100 area churches, will run from 9 a.m.
