Roads closed for Girls on the Run 5K

The 2025 Girls on the Run 5K will be held on the morning of Saturday, May 3. The downtown area of State Route 65 from Bergin to Osborn will be closed to all traffic from 6 to 11 a.m. The race will start at 8 a.m. and will require several streets to be closed at 7:45 a.m.

Siren test time temporarily changed

The Wood County outdoor warning sirens monthly test will be conducted on Saturday, May 3, at noon, instead of the regular 10 a.m. test time. This is a temporary change in the testing time. The regular test time of 10 a.m. will resume on June 7.

Rossford students awarded Achievement of Excellence

Girl Scout Troop 12303 is hosting a pet adoption day at Toledo Humane Society for their Silver Award, which is just one of the highest awards to earn in Girl Scouts. The event is Saturday, May 3, from noon to 5 p.m., at the Toledo Humane Society, 827 Illinois Avenue, Maumee.

The 577 Foundation invites the community to celebrate sustainability with Go Green Day, a free, familyfriendly event filled with fun and inspiration on Saturday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cake bake auction to be held April 27

Scouts from Pack 43, Troop 62 and Troop 3062 from Rossford United Methodist Church are having a cake bake auction at the church on Sunday, April 27, from noon to 2 p.m. They would appreciate donations of any kind of baked goods to auction off. Multiple entries are allowed.

SOS Club serves breakfast

Rossford High School’s Serving Our Soldiers (SOS) Club will host a pancake breakfast to benefit Flag City Honor Flight on April 26. The event will be at the Rossford Junior/Senior High School cafeteria from 8 to 11 a.m., or until sold out.
