RAGE Volleyball Club partners with Terra State for summer camps

The RAGE Volleyball Club, headquartered in Rossford, has partnered with the Terra State Titans volleyball program to host volleyball camps on Monday and Wednesday, July 10 and 12, at Robinson Elementary School in Toledo. Terra State will also host a camp on Thursday and Friday, July 27 and 28, on the campus in Fremont.

Mercy offers mobile mammograms in July

Mercy Health’s mobile mammography unit has visits scheduled throughout the region in July. The mobile unit is customized for patient convenience and will deliver 3D mammograms to women age 40 and older.

Annual golf fund-raiser held by NAMI

Wood County Educational Service Center offering community summer camps

The Wood County Educational Service Center - Community Learning Centers is inviting Wood County students to its “Tomorrowland” summer camp experiences. Camps will offer children kindergarten through sixth grade to themed enrichment and academic activities. The camps run 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, all summer in Bowling Green, North Baltimore, Rossford and Northwood elementary schools. The “time traveling” campers will create their own robots, futuristic mobiles, use geospatial technology, grow their own tomato plants and mini gardens at each site and participate in virtual field trips to locations like Hershey’s Park, Nickelodeon Headquarters, Disney World and more. Campers will also learn how to take care of butterflies and fish, with one camper from each site taking a goldfish home.

WGU Ohio celebrates five years of helping students close the skills gap

State education and workforce leaders are celebrating the fifth anniversary of Western Governors University Ohio (WGU Ohio) this month and expressing their continued enthusiasm for the positive impact WGU Ohio has had in helping close the skills gap. Since its inception, 72 residents from Wood County have earned their bachelor’s or master’s degree from the university.

Summer music series in Grand Rapids
