Owens Community College hosts free FAFSA workshop

Owens Community College will be hosting two Free Application For Student Aid (FAFSA) student workshops in the month of April. The first is on Thursday, April 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. and the second Thursday, April 29, from 2 to 4 p.m.

RHS basketball programs looking ahead

Even though the 2020-21 varsity basketball season ended about a month ago, the Rossford High School boys and girls teams already are looking ahead to next year. Both squads are busy with player evaluations and off-season training.

RJHS season records

The Rossford Junior High School basketball teams can provide a window into the future of high school basketball. Kim Linenkugel, junior high athletic director said, the eighth-grade girls team ended the season with an 8-6 record.

Boys basketball All State honors posted by OHSAA

The Ohio High School Athletic Association has announced the following All State honors for two Rossford High School boys basketball players. Senior CamRon Gaston was named Division II All Ohio Special Mention. Junior Ben Morrison earned Division II All Ohio Honorable Mention.

Girls softball registration open

The Rossford Community Recreation Center has opened softball registration for the coming season. Girls ages 6 to 14 are invited to play in a recreational softball league with other surrounding communities. The cost will be $90 and the deadline to register is March 19 at noon.

Eckhart wins NBC mat championship; four other Bulldogs place

Rossford High School senior Herb Eckhart V ran his season wrestling record to 23-3 as he won the Northern Buckeye Conference individual championship at 182 lbs. He defeated Mason Oliver of Elmwood, 9-4, to earn RHS its only league champion for the event hosted by the Bulldogs.

Girls basketball team gaining valuable experience

The Rossford High School varsity girls basketball team made a historic tournament run last year, reaching regional semifinals before bowing out to an undefeated Napoleon team that seemed destined for a state championship until COVID-19 shut down the season.

Bulldogs finish regular basketball season with 19-1 record

On February 9, the Rossford varsity boys basketball team traveled to Wauseon for what was a clash between two of the foremost powers in northwest Ohio. The undefeated Bulldogs entered the game with a 17-0 record, and the Indians brought a 15-2 record as the league leaders in the NWOAL.

Walleye Roundup returns this spring

Entering its fourth year, the Bass Pro Shops Rossford Walleye Roundup is scheduled for April 2 and 3. The annual fishing tournament is open to all two-person teams. Payouts are based on the number of entries and anticipated to return an estimated $20,000 back to the winning teams.
