SHIRLEY A. SHINN

Shirley A. Shinn, 83, of Rossford, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the Merit House. She was born in Toledo, on January 3, 1940, to Berman Ryas and Dorothy (Swiger) Wamer. Shirley married Floyd Shinn, and they shared 36 wonderful years together.

Shirley retired from the Rossford Public Library. She also worked for Gerrards grocery store. She loved being outdoors and was an avid bird watcher. She loved fried chicken and watching Gunsmoke. Her greatest joys in life were her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be missed by her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survived by husband, Floyd Shinn; daughter, Kathleen (Jim Peer) Kanfield-Pelow; daughter-in-law, Jan Martin; stepson, Troy (Theresa) Shinn; grandchildren, Jeremy (Cassandra) Upton, Jacqueline Pelow and Issac, Noah and Emma Shinn; great-grandchildren, Brooklynn, Riley and Audrey, and siblings, Audrey (Jim) Cordell, Richard Wamer, Karen Mead, Art (Peg) Wamer, Duane (Nancy) Spring. She was preceded in death by her father, Berman Ryas Wamer; mother, Dorothy Spring; children, Rex Martin and Barbara Kanfield, and brother, Paul Wamer Friends were received at Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Road, Rossford, on Saturday, April 15, from 1 to 4 p.m., with a memorial service at 4 p.m. Memorial donations in Shirley’s name may be made to Southern Care Hospice.
