SHIRLEY ANN (SANDLIN) GELACEK

Shirley Ann Elizabeth (Sandlin) Gelacek, age 84, from Rossford, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, January 18, 2023.

Shirley was born July 21, 1938, in Crystal City, Missouri, to Sara Inez Elizabeth (Null) Sandlin and Ira Elvest Sandlin. She married her loving husband, John L. Gelacek, in 1954, and celebrated 64 years of marriage, before his passing May 26, 2019.

She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, William C. Null, Mary Ellen Roderique, Dixie Lee Schuessler and Elvest P. Sandlin, and her nephew, Perry Sandlin.

Shirley enjoyed many years of involvement with S.S. Cyril and Methodius Church, working in the cafeteria and volunteering for many church festivals. And, she really enjoyed playing bunco with her lady friends for more than 60 years.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Gregg Snyder and Carol and Tom Tarpey. She was a loving grandma to Amanda Mitchell (David), Adam (Shannon) Snyder and Zachary Snyder, and a loving great-grandma to Madison. Today we celebrate the life of our mother, grandma, great-grandma, aunt and friend to so many. There will be a private service by immediate family.
