Lee Douglas Ferguson, 72 years old, of Rossford, (formerly of Grand Rapids, Michigan), passed away surrounded by family on October 9, 2026.
Lee made his grand entrance into this world on September 13, 1954, in Sylvania, to Fred and Betty. Those who knew Lee best will forever remember his legendary stubbornness regarding everything and his unshakeable love for his family, golf, watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, cooking and talking with his granddaughters.
Lee graduated from Ottawa Hills High School in 1972 and went on to work on the road catering for shows with his good friend, Big Al, where he had the opportunity to tour with some of his favorite artists.
He had two children, April and Joshua, who he loved more than anything. He went on to marry Bethany Greig and became a wonderful stepfather to her children, who he loved as if they were his own. After 16 years, Lee and Bethany went their separate ways, but never lost love and friendship for each other. He remained a huge part of her and her children’s lives.
In his retirement, Lee spent a lot of his time golfing and trying to find excuses to cook for anyone who had a mouth. Lee loved to tell a story and entertain people, and was even able to charm his granddaughters into coming over to watch football with him. He never stopped being the life of the party.
Lee leaves behind children, April (Scott) Schuerman, Joshua Ferguson, Steven (Cassandra) Greig, Maria Randle, Michelle (George) Moss and Moniqua Cummings; brother, Tom (Susan) Ferguson; sister, Maureen Rader; ex-wife, Bethany Greig; nieces, greatnieces, great-nephew, a whole lot of grandchildren, and many grand dogs and close friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Scott, and brother-in-law, Don Rader, whom he is probably having a drink with right now in the afterlife.
Instead of wanting everyone to grieve his departure, Lee would want everyone to take a shot of Crown Royal in his honor.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no traditional, gloomy service. Instead, Lee has requested a Celebration of Life be held in his honor. Please join the family for the Celebration of Life on Sunday, November 8, from 2 to 6 p.m., at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 658 Lime City Road, Rossford.
Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to the American Heart Association or the Cleveland Clinic.
