•KENNETH ROBERT GWOZDZ SR.

Kenneth Robert Gwozdz Sr., 84 years old, left his earthly home on New Year’s Eve 2022 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, surrounded by his loving children and nephew. Kenny G was born at home on Oak Street in Rossford, to Valerian and Helen (Knurek) Gwozdz.

He grew up in his cherished town of Rossford; a 1955 graduate of Rossford High School, where he met and married his one true love, Bonnie Jean Kovach. They were married on January 12, 1957 and enjoyed 56 years together before Bonnie passed away in 2013. Together, they raised three children and a nephew on Jennings Road. Ken put his heart and soul into his community, volunteering at the schools, serving as councilman for 20-plus years and becoming city administrator for four years. After attending the University of Toledo, Ken went to work for Owens-Illinois as a sales and marketing manager, then a manager of graphic arts. Retiring after 31 years with OI, Ken went on to work 12 years for the IRS as a taxpayer resolution representative.

Kenny was a life-long member of All Saints Catholic Church, where he served as chairman of the finance committee, lector and treasurer for the Knights of Columbus. Golfing and playing cards were his true passion. Later in life he picked up “puzzler” to occupy his time with family and friends.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws, Eugene Kovach and Mary Rady; brother, Dennis Gwozdz; sister and brotherin- law, Joyce and Gene Kovach; brother-in-law, Joseph Kovach; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Gwozdz and Sara Gwozdz; grandson, Gideon Gwozdz, and son-in-law, Dave Reamsnyder.

He is survived by his brother, Richard Gwozdz; daughters, Gigi Reamsnyder and Kris (Dan) Creps; son, Kenneth Robert (Pam) Gwozdz Jr.; nephew, Joseph (Diana) Kovach; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends.

Friends and family will be received at Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, 830 Lime City Road, Rossford, Ohio, on Friday, January 6, from 2 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, January 7, at All Saints Catholic Church, 628 Lime City Road, Rossford, from 9 to 10 a.m., with a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Ft. Meigs Union Cemetery.
