Donald Cornell Tisdale, known affectionately as Don or Donnie, a devoted husband, father and beloved Pops to his grandchildren. Donald peacefully transitioned from this world on February 5, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter and a lifetime of cherished memories.

Born to the late Rev. Clyde E. and Thelma M. Tisdale, Donald was their seventh son and 11th child of 14 children. From a young age growing up in Rossford, he cultivated a deep love for God and family values that would guide him throughout his life. Donald was a pillar of support and love as a husband to Linda Baskin Tisdale, and together they created a home filled with warmth and compassion. As a father, his guidance and encouragement were invaluable to his daughters, Stephanie (Craig) Teamer and Shannon (Darren) Carter. His love extended to being a cherished Pops to his grandchildren, Justin, Jalen, Kendall, Heaven and Calen, who brought immeasurable joy to his life.

Professionally, Donald dedicated most of his career to serving as a journeyman sprinkler fitter, business owner and later as an instructor in the trade. His expertise, work ethic and passion for his craft impacted his duties as a housing specialist for Friendship New Vision, Inc.

After retirement, Donald’s inquisitive nature led him to explore the world of technology, from the latest cell phones to barbecue grills and cars. His enthusiasm for gadgets mirrored his lifelong commitment to staying current in a rapidly changing world.

In his leisure time, Donald found solace in watching movies, listening to music, sending early morning prayers, watching and sending TikTok videos and being a proud supporter of the Ohio State Buckeyes. His love for the Buckeyes was a testament to his unwavering loyalty and passion for the things he held dear.

Donald graduated from Rossford High School, and was inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame, Washtenaw Community College and As we bid farewell to Donald Cornell Tisdale, let us remember him for his love for God and family, his infectious humor and the joy he brought to our lives. May he rest in eternal peace.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde E. and Thelma M. Tisdale; his brothers, Clyde Tisdale Jr., Charles Tisdale, Carl Tisdale, Delbert Tisdale, Thomas Baskin, Robert Baskin, Lloyd Baskin, Albert Baskin, and sisters, Dolline Beard and Ruth Savage. He is survived by: his wife, Linda Tisdale, of 52 years; daughters, Stephanie (Craig) Teamer and Shannon (Darren) Carter; grandchildren, Justin, Jalen and Kendall Teamer, and Heaven and Calen Carter; siblings, Cathern Morgan, Betty Edwards, Gerald Tisdale, Jack (Gloria) Tisdale, Margaret Tisdale, Patricia (Claude) Sloan, Gary (Tammy) Tisdale and Bishop Duane (Thelma) Tisdale, Lucille (Robert) Boyette, Delois Baskin and Patricia Weaver, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral arrangements are as follows: Saturday, February 17, at Friendship Baptist Church, 5301 Nebraska Avenue, Toledo; with a wake visitation starting at 10 a.m., and the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetry.
