Donald J. Britt Jr., 82, of Rossford, passed away on January 2, 2025, following a brief illness in the care of Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg.

Donald was born on November 22, 1942, to Donald Britt Sr. and Harriet (White) in Lima. He pursued higher education, earning a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University, a master’s degree from Western Kentucky University and a master of education from the University of Toledo.

In 1965, Donald enlisted in the U.S. Army, where he began his military career as an officer. His dedication and leadership led him to a promotion to lieutenant when deployed to Vietnam, where he served as an artillery and missile officer. Later, at Fort Knox, he played a significant role in operating an online education program for soldiers on base. After his active duty service, Donald continued his military service in the Army Reserves and retired from the 100th Division in Kentucky.

In his retirement, Donald found joy in traveling, particularly to Alaska and Colorado. He also had a passion for restoring and refurbishing computers, as well as exploring new culinary experiences. His love for family and adventure led him to spend many cherished days fishing on Lake Erie and on family trips to his houseboat in Tennessee.

Donald is survived by his beloved wife, Anne; his sister, Ellen Fritz; children, William S. Britt, Steve Lawson and Alan Lawson; as well as grandchildren, Lily, Ian, Marley, Chase and Gabe. He was preceded in death by his parents.
