The Wood County Park District will offer free Leprechaun Open Geocaching, on Saturday, March 21, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Bradner Preserve, 11491 Fostoria Road, Bradner.Participants can solve riddles to find the hidden leprechauns’ secret treasure caches. Stop by anytime between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Fire and rescue department receives new equipment

The Rossford Fire and Rescue Department recently received new equipment, which is expected to help elevate the level of care they can provide to the community. Through grant funding, they purchased two LUCAS devices, two Lifepaks and two stair chairs.

Johnson awarded Officer of the Year; council schedules committee of the whole meeting to discuss data centers

Officer Jodi Johnson, the school resource officer at the Rossford Junior-Senior High School, was recognized as the 2025 Officer of the Year during Rossford City Council’s regular meeting on March 9.“A lot of things she does go unnoticed, because she’s at the school,” said Police Chief Todd Kitzler.

The Wood County Emergency Management Agency reports upcoming severe weather awareness week and tornado drill.•This year’s Ohio Severe Weather Awareness Week is scheduled for March 15 to 21.•The annual Statewide Tornado Drill will be held Wednesday, March 18, at 9:50 a.m.

Free farm breakfasts March 8, April 12

Wood County Park District will offer free farm breakfasts on Sundays, March 8 and April 12, from 10 a.m. to noon, at Otsego Park, Thompson Stone Hall, 20000 West River Road, Bowling Green.
