The 48th Holidays at the Manor House returned Saturday, December 2, at Wildwood Preserve Metropark, 5100 Central Avenue, Toledo. Admission is free, and no reservations are required. The home is open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Sunday, December 10.

Unveiling of Santa’s sleigh set for Dec. 16

Santa will visit the Rossford United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 16, from 2 to 4 p.m., along with Mrs. Claus and some of his elves. The visit will celebrate the unveiling of an antique sleigh for Santa. The sleigh has been hidden for more than a year in anticipation of this big event.

Rossford schools to open the ‘R’ to the community

Rossford school district is planning to provide access to its new multi-use facility, the “R,” to district residents beginning January 8. Upon application approval, adults who live within the school district will be able to use the three-lane indoor track and cardio equipment in the fieldhouse portion of the building from 6:45 to 8:45 a.m., Monday through Friday.

Federal courts require manufacturers of asbestos to compensate cancer victims

Plant workers, employed before 1981 and diagnosed with various cancers, are entitled to special benefits. Lung, esophageal, laryngeal, pharyngeal, stomach, colon and rectal cancers, along with mesothelioma are frequently caused by asbestos exposure. Asbestos-laced products were used for decades at LOF Glass Company. Neither employees nor management were aware of the asbestos risk.

Perrysburg Twp. food distribution

The Perrysburg Township food distribution will be held Thursday, December 14, from 8 to 10 a.m. The township fire department will sponsor the food give-away at the township building, 26609 Lime City Road, the second Thursday of each month.
