TOPICS Camera Club, a non-profit organization open to everyone, will meet Wednesday, January 10, at 6:30 p.m., at the Monclova Community Center, 8115 Monclova Road, Monclova. January’s emphasis will be on monochrome photos.

The Perrysburg Township food distribution will be held Thursday, January 11, from 8 to 10 a.m. The township fire department will sponsor the food give-away at the township building, 26609 Lime City Road, the second Thursday of each month.

Renovations are still ongoing inside several of the Ohio Turnpike service plazas along the 241-mile road, but the work is nearing completion. At Wyandot and Blue Heron service plazas, milepost 76.9, the turnpike and AVI Foodsystems recently completed a new Marco’s Pizza and Starbucks, offering an expanded range of food and beverage options for travelers.

Several Ohio Turnpike plaza partners will offer complimentary coffee to travelers from 10 p.m. on New Year’s Eve to 7 a.m., New Year’s Day. The offer is valid for one cup of hot coffee per traveler.

The Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) services announced its holiday schedule for New Years Day, Monday, January 1, 2024. TARTA and TARPS vehicles will be in operation from 6:30 a.m.

Apart from the major bridge replacement project that straddles the border of Summit and Portage counties, major construction along the Ohio Turnpike has been halted for the winter months. This past construction season, work focused on continuing projects associated with the modernization of the toll collection system and on bridges.

The Northwestern Water and Sewer District board of trustees passed a resolution to cover the cost of maintaining and operating district watersheds. Five gallons of water will cost $1.25 starting Tuesday, January 2, 2024. The cost for a gallon of water remains 25 cents per gallon.
