GLCAP to offer utility assistance

The Great Lakes Community Action Partnership will help eligible Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca and Wood County residents stay cool this summer via their summer crisis program, taking place July 1 through September 30, 2024.Last year, GLCAP assisted 796 families through the program.

Wicked Wheels car show planned for Wednesday, Aug. 7

The annual Wicked Wheels car show caps off a summer of events in Springfield Township.This year, Wicked Wheels is relocating from Springfield High School to Community Homecoming Park, 7807 Angola Road.The show will feature antique and classic cars as well as exotic, hot rods and race cars.

Park district to host Dogs Days of Summer costume parade

Wood County Park District and Wood County dog shelter staff invite the public to bring their costumed canine to Sawyer Quarry Nature Preserve, 26940 Lime City Road, Perrysburg, on Friday, June 28, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Independence Day celebrations in the Rossford area

The City of Perrysburg and the City of Maumee will host the traditional Independence Day fireworks on Wednesday, July 3—rain date is July 5. Fireworks will begin at 10 p.m. and last approximately 20 minutes.The fireworks will be set off in the green space at Orleans Park.

Glanville addresses large group at Bulldog Foundation fund-raiser

On June 13, the Bulldog Foundation held its annual Building Futures Extravaganza dinner at the Hilton Garden Inn in Perrysburg. This year’s keynote speaker was former NFL Coach Jerry Glanville, a Perrysburg native. Emcee Jordan Strack hosted the event and introduced Glanville, left.

Steam Threshers to host annual display on July 21

The days of yesteryear will be on display Sunday, July 21, at the Five Point Steam Threshers 62nd annual reunion.The event, free and open to the public, will feature wheat threshing and plowing demonstrations, along with a variety of antique tractors, gas and steam engines.
