Zoar food packing event with Sew Hope

On Saturday, September 7, Zoar Lutheran Church will host a food packing event in their family life center, from 9 to 11 a.m. Zoar has teamed up with Sew Hope and the Kid’s Coalition Against Hunger to help support mission work in Guatemala.

Phoebe and Owen McCracken recently completed Rossford Public Library’s 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. Phoebe is five years old and finished her 1,000 books a week before starting kindergarten.

Hockey benefit to be held for twp. firefighter with cancer

On Saturday, September 7, at 6 p.m., Tam-O-Shanter will host a hockey benefit game between the Toledo Fire Firefighters and Wood County FOP. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Troy Bernhard, a long-time firefighter/ paramedic with Perrysburg Township.

Local resident, Jan Dixon, spent time appreciating the familial habits of the W. W. Knight Nature Preserve pond life. “I have been having so much fun watching and photographing the wood duck family at the preserve—all 11 of them. The dragonflies have also been abundant and very busy.
