Halloween adoption event

Lucas County Canine Care and Control (LC4) is hosting a Halloween adoption special now through October 25. The adoption fee will be waived for those who donate a bag of individually wrapped candy to be used for LC4’s upcoming trunk or treat event.

Brad Gessner will be the featured speaker at HeART Gallery’s Holiday Cookie Festival on Saturday, October 12.Gessner, the chief counsel for the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office, beat out 20,000 applicants to appear as one of eight contestants on season two of “The Great American Baking Show.
Kipp Davis completed Rossford Public Library’s 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. He is five years old and will start kindergarten next year. Kipp enjoys playing laser tag and fishing; in fact, he just caught his first fish recently. His favorite book is “What the Dinosaurs Did at School” and his favorite foods are pepperoni pizza, ribs and steak. Kipp chose Disney’s “Five Minute Halloween Stories” as his final prize to add to his home library. Congratulations, Kipp.

On Thursday, October 3, at 7:30 p.m., the Music Business Technology students from Owens Community College will present the opening concert of the 9th annual Accent on the Arts concert series, featuring the Cleveland Celtic Ensemble. Guests may also join for a free workshop at 3:30 p.m.
