Rossford dedicates docks in memory of marina guards

On September 13, the City of Rossford held a dedication ceremony for three marina guards that have passed away. Mayor Neil MacKinnon dedicated a dock to each guard, while noting how grateful the city is for their many years of service to the marina as well as the community.

Updated levy estimator on website informs voters of tax impact

According to Wood County Auditor Matthew Oestreich, the levy estimator on its website has been updated for the November 5, 2024 ballot. The website is auditor.co.wood.oh.us.

Beginning with the September 13 home game, Rossford school district is implementing two new policies: a weapons detection screener and large bag policy for entry to football games.

ODOT Weekly Construction Update

The Ohio Department of Transportation has released the following updates on road construction in the area.State Route 582 between I-75 and State Route 25, closed for roundabout construction through early November.The detour is Route 25 to I-475 to I-75.

MacQueen Orchards annual apple butter festival is October 5 and 6

MacQueen Orchard’s Farm Market will host its annual apple butter festival Saturday and Sunday, October 5 and 6, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. While cooking in a giant copper kettle over an open fire, fresh, warm apple butter will be available to purchase and sample.

Canine Cancer Project to host 13th annual dog walk

Andy’s Army Canine Cancer Project will hold its 13th annual walk to raise funds for canine cancer research. The walk will be Sunday, September 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Three Meadows Park, 300 Three Meadows Drive. Registration will be open from 10 to 11 a.m. on the day of the event.

Planned Pethood annual Bark and Brew Sept. 21

Planned Pethood, Inc. will host its second annual Bark and Brew on Saturday, September 21, from 1 to 4 p.m., at Perrysburg Animal Hospital/ The Barn, 9310 Bass Pro Boulevard, Rossford. This year’s event celebrates 45 years of service to the community.

Habitat for Humanity of Wood County will hold a home dedication ceremony and community celebration for a home that was rehabbed for the Murphy family in Weston, on Wednesday, September 18, from 5 to 6 pm. Weston Mayor, Jeremy Schroeder, will be speaking.

Rossford American Legion’s annual golf scrambles Sept. 28

The Rossford American Legion Post 533 will host the 16th annual JJ Durco Memorial Golf Scrambles on Saturday, September 28, 8:30 a.m., at Green Meadows Country Club in Monroe, Michigan. The event is open to men, women and mixed foursomes.
