Rossford to swear in first class of full-time firefighters

The following announcements were made during the Rossford City Council meeting on March 10:•Rossford will be swearing in its first class of eight full-time firefighters in the Rossford High School auditorium on Thursday, March 20, at 6 p.m. This is open to the public.

Hometown Hero Banner Program opens for applications

The City of Rossford is accepting applications for the Hometown Heroes Banner Program, which honors past and present members of the Armed Forces and First Responders.Applications can be found at rossfordohio. com/news_detail_T8_R47. php and submitted along with a photo to admin@rossfordohio.com.

Library of Congress Veterans Project interviews Navy veteran Larry Mandell

One of the ways the area recognizes its veterans is through the Way Public Library’s participation in the Library of Congress Veterans Project, its purpose to preserve veterans’ service memories.Recently, the library recorded an interview with Larry Mandell who served in the U.S. Navy from 19661970.

Toledo Polish Genealogical Society to meet March 15

Spring prescribed fires to be conducted at WC parks

Wood County Park District stewardship department is planning to conduct prescribed fires in several park properties this spring. The locations of these burns may be in Bradner Preserve, Cricket Frog Cove Area and Sawyer Quarry Nature Preserve.
