The Cocoon advances core mission during Sexual Assault Awareness Month

On average, sexual victimization occurs once every three minutes in Ohio. That is over 550 incidents per day. Sexual assault is not limited to age, ethnicity, geography or economics. It occurs daily in businesses, at schools, in parks and streets and to children and elders.

Call for submissions for Second Annual Behavioral Health Art Show

The Wood County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (WCADAMHS) Board is now accepting submissions for the Second Annual Behavioral Health Art Show, celebrating the recovery journeys of individuals living with mental illness and/or substance use disorder, as well as their loved ones.

Vietnam veterans invited to free dinner Sat., March 29

Northwood VFW #2984 will host a free dinner for area Vietnam veterans on Saturday, March 29, from 3 to 7 p.m.Free dinners are available to Vietnam veterans and guests may purchase meals for $10. Proof of eligibility is required.The event is in honor of Vietnam Veterans Day on March 29.

National Museum of the Great Lakes hosts final virtual book club discussion of the season

The National Museum of the Great Lakes will host the final discussion of their 2025 Great Lakes Book Club. Topic is “The Salmon Capital of Michigan: The Rise and Fall of a Great Lakes Fishery,” by Carson Prichard.

Toledo Sail and Power Squadron offers boating safety course

The Toledo Sail and Power Squadron will offer America’s Boating Course this year.The program will be offered April 5 and 12, at the Perrysburg Township Fire Department. The classes will run from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and registration starts at 8:15 a.m.

SOS Club serves breakfast

Rossford High School’s Serving Our Soldiers (SOS) Club will host a pancake breakfast to benefit Flag City Honor Flight on April 26. The event will be at the Rossford Junior/Senior High School cafeteria from 8 to 11 a.m., or until sold out.
