Dangelo on dean’s list at BGSU

Phillip Dangelo, of Rossford, was named to the dean’s list for the summer semester at Bowling Green State University. Dangelo is a student in the College of Engineering and Innovation. To be named to the dean’s list at BGSU, an undergraduate student must achieve a grade point average of 3.

Rhythm on the River arts series continues Aug. 24

Due to popular demand, the North Coast Big Band will return for their 24th appearance as part of the Rhythm on the River Arts Series in Grand Rapids on Sunday, August 24, at 4 p.m.

577 to host Mixtape, community sing, Aug. 23

577 Foundation will host Mixtape: Community Singing, led by Executive Director Heather Gallant, at the outdoor stage near the geodesic dome on Saturday, August 23, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Rossford Schools’ Patricia Gladieux Employee- of- the- Ye a r Award has been given to Faye Cashen and Del Clayton.This award is presented to employees who exemplify outstanding character in their service to Rossford’s children and community.

Learn ASL at the Rossford Public Library

Rossford Public Library is offering free community classes to learn American Sign Language (ASL).This eight-week course is designed for adults and older children, providing essential ASL skills and knowledge. Instruction is provided through an educational partnership with Owens Community College.

Be a Horse Hero, Aug 22

The Healing Barn’s Be a Horse Hero benefit will be held Friday, August 22, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., at the Hilton Garden Inn, 6165 Levis Commons Boulevard, Perrysburg.The Healing Barn is a Northwest Ohio horse rescue facility dedicated to rescuing abused and neglected horses.

Bulldog Foundation to hold golf tournament

The Bulldog Foundation will hold its eighth annual golf outing on Monday, September 22, at Belmont Country Club, 29601 Bates Road, Perrysburg.Cost is $130 per person and includes lunch, golf, carts and prizes for winners.

Wood County Sheriff’s Office increases patrols

Since August 15, the Wood County Sheriff’s Office has been conducting increased patrols, which will continue through Sunday, August 31, thanks to grant funding from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office during the National Blitz Campaign “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.
