Rossford City Council considers buying Rite Aid property

Rossford City Council had a first reading of an ordinance to buy the former Rite Aid building, located on Dixie Highway, for 1.3 million during their regular meeting on June 23. TIF (Tax Increment Financing) funds, which don’t go toward the operations of the city, can be used for the purchase.

Fourth of July blitz set by Wood County Sheriff

Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn reports that the Wood County Sheriff’s office will be conducting increased patrol from Thursday July 3, through Sunday, July 6, thanks to grant funding from the Ohio Traffic Safety Office.

SOS Club launching new program

The SOS (Serving Our Soldiers) Club is launching a new program entitled Connect with a Veteran. SOS members will correspond with military veterans, sending cards, letters, small snacks and potentially invite veterans to speak with students at Rossford High School.

Wood County Sheriff’s office investigates fatal crash

On June 11, at 5:22 a.m., the Wood County Sheriffs office investigated a two vehicle crash which resulted in one fatality on State Route 582 near Tontogany Road, Washington Township.The crash involved a Honda Goldwing motorcycle and a Hyundai Santa Fe.
