One of the ways the area recognizes its veterans is through the Way Public Library’s participation in the Library of Congress Veterans Project, its purpose to preserve veterans’ service memories.
Recently, the library recorded an interview with Larry Mandell who served in the U.S. Navy from 19661970. Much of his time was spent on the USS Cascade as instrument repairman.
