For his Eagle Scout project, Freddie Dowling of Perrysburg orchestrated the construction of replacement bat boxes at W.W. Knight and Bradner nature preserves.
In spring, an area resident attended a Wood County park district meeting to ask that the bat boxes at W.W. Knight Nature Preserve be replaced, noting they had deteriorated over the years.
A Perrysburg Boy Scout, learning of the need, heeded the call and took on the construction of new bat boxes for the park, as well as Bradner Nature Preserve in southwestern Wood County.
